Classifying Networks by Geography

Metropolitan Area Network (MAN):

It interconnects office location in a metropolitan area, it's advantage is we can get high speed in MAN we know that they are geographically dispersed but there connection is based on fiber optics.
Let's take an example of MAN:

• These buildings connect together metropolitan area service network  provider
• Connection is in fiber optics we can get very high speed connectivity maybe in GB/s
• There is lots of customers using that fiber optic ring in MAN, to keep one customer different from other we use different wavelengths of light for different customers that is what we are doing in MAN.
